What Bruins Fans Need To Know About Important 2025 NHL Draft Lottery
The Bruins face an important offseason, and it begins with the 2025 NHL Draft Lottery.
Boston finished with 76 points this season, which means it has an 8.5% chance of winning the draft lottery. The event will be held next Monday at NHL Network studios in Secaucus, NJ. Erie Otters (OHL) defenseman Matthew Schaefer is the favorite to be selected first overall.
The lottery will set the order for the first 16 picks. There will be two drawings, one to determine the No. 1 pick and a second to determine the No. 2 selection. No team can move up 10 spots and only the top 11 teams are eligible for the No. 1 pick. If a team outside the top 11 wins, the team with the worst record, the San Jose Sharks, will pick first overall.
The odds for the remaining teams will increase on a proportionate basis for the second lottery draw, based on which team wins the first lottery draw. Based on the Bruins’ record and lottery odds, it’s likely they’ll earn a pick from No. 5 to No. 7.
The 2025 NHL Draft will be held over two days, starting with the first round June 27 and concluding with the rest of the draft June 28.
