The Everton Forum • Re: Mykolenko

0 2
I'm going to hate myself for this when I look back in 12 months time but, I think there's more to be had from Mykolenko. He improved hugely defensively over the last two seasons and (slipping on my optimistic blue-tinted glasses) I think he can be improved as an attacking LB. I know it's a well-worn excuse but, we saw him literally stop 20 yards inside the opponents half and run back under Dyche. I remember laughing with others at the Park End, it was like someone had pulled an invisible leash.

I don't expect him to become Leighton Baines, but I do believe that given more freedom and encouragement by Moyes, we will see him in far more advanced positions and providing decent service. He is capable of it, I've seen him put in some excellent crosses. Having the chance to do it often and regularly will improve him enough for us to be more focused on improving other areas in the short-term.
I agree with this. In the interests of a solid rebuild over multiple windows, Myko could easily be here and first choice LB a while longer.
