4 big changes | Predicted Man Utd line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Bournemouth with Chido Obi decision

0 3

Manchester United take on Bournemouth in today’s early Premier League kick-off at the Vitality Stadium.

The Red Devils have had a disappointing league campaign. They are presently 15th in the table with 38 points after 33 games.

Despite this, manager Ruben Amorim will want to end the season on a positive note and could pick a strong starting XI today.

Match rhythm is vital ahead of the first leg of the Europa League semi-final against Athletic Bilbao on Thursday evening.

Amorim has the opportunity to test his starting XI for the Athletic clash against the Cherries.

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Predicted Line-up:

Andre Onana was rested for the 4-1 loss at Newcastle United earlier this month but has since been reinstated. The Cameroon international is guaranteed to start in goal ahead of Altay Bayindir.

In front of him, Amorim could pick the best possible backline. With Matthijs de Ligt injured, it appears to be a straightforward decision.

Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro should make the XI, having been rested for the 1-0 league loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The duo are poised to be partnered by Noussair Mazraoui in central defence.

Patrick Dorgu should continue at right wing-back with Diogo Dalot out with a calf injury.

Harry Amass will likely get the nod at left wing-back ahead of the injury-prone Luke Shaw.

Victor Lindelof and Tyler Fredricson are poised to drop to the bench.

In the centre of the park, Amorim could go with Manuel Ugarte and Casemiro.

Casemiro’s form has been exceptional in Europe. He won a penalty and provided two assists in the dramatic 5-4 win over Lyon in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final.

The Brazilian still needs minutes to prepare for the big contest in Bilbao. Captain Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho will likely be paired in attacking midfield against the Cherries.

Kobbie Mainoo and Christian Eriksen will drop to the bench.

Rasmus Hojlund has just one goal from his last 28 outings but should lead the attack again.

The Dane has been misfiring in front of goal, but Amorim will hope he can find the net ahead of the Basque Country trip.

There is an option to start Chido Obi upfront, but the 17-year-old is ineligible to play in Europe, having not been registered.

With this in mind, Hojlund should get the nod in preparation for the Athletic clash.
