David Andrews Has Strong Take On Patriots Drafting Will Campbell
David Andrews played an encore performance for Patriots fans Friday morning.
Andrews made his stance on Will Campbell abundantly clear exactly one week before the 2025 NFL Draft. The two-time Super Bowl champion used some colorful language to scoff at naysayers who were hung up on the LSU product’s arm length. New England brass certainly wasn’t discouraged by the polarizing measurement, as the franchise selected Campbell fourth overall Thursday night.
Less than 24 hours later, Andrews heaped a ton of support on Campbell, who the former seemingly believes will join the long list of Patriots who proved doubters wrong.
“Happy for @will.campbell66,” Andrews posted to his Instagram story. “All the measurables go out the window when the pads go on. How many guys for this organization haven’t been the All-Star on paper and have turned into great players for this place? Coach (Tom) Landry said, ‘The most important part of a player is the 18 inches from their head to their heart,’ and I believe he has this. Lastly, the game has changed a lot. One thing remains true: The game is won in the trenches and always will be.”
Campbell’s college tape speaks for itself, but the 21-year-old also seems to boast the intangibles that so many of the great NFL players possess. Mike Vrabel undoubtedly can expect a player who is going to work his tail off from Day 1 in Foxboro, Mass.
And although Andrews arrived in New England with far less fanfare than Campbell, he’s a shining example of what can happen when you carry yourself with a tireless work ethic.
