Tottenham vice-captain does not want to be at the club, says Jamie O'Hara
Jamie O’Hara has said that one experienced Tottenham Hotspur man does not look like he wants to be playing in Ange Postecoglou’s side.
The body language and the lapses in concentration of some Spurs players over the last couple of weeks have come under the microscope.
While that can partly be put down to the fact that Tottenham have nothing to play for in the Premier League and have their full focus on the Europa League, one senior Spurs man has already admitted that he wants a new challenge.
Cristian Romero revealed earlier this week that he would love to play in La Liga, and the timing of his comments are ominous, particularly amidst speculation suggesting that Atletico Madrid have reached out to Romero.
Jamie O’Hara makes controversial Cristian Romero claim
On the back of the centre-back’s latest comments, Jamie O’Hara is convinced that the Tottenham vice-captain does not want to play right now.
The pundit questioned why Romero would want to play in this struggling Ange Postecoglou side, whose form in the Premier League continues to go from bad to worse.
Reacting to the 26-year-old’s latest comments, O’Hara told talkSPORT (as relayed by GiveMeSport): “I don’t think he wants to be there at the moment, I don’t think he wants to be in this team. I don’t think he wants to play at this time. Who would want to play in this team? Are they playing in this team?”
Cristian Romero has disrespected his teammates and fans
Romero’s comments about his transfer ambitions are poorly timed and are not what Postecoglou’s men need as they prepare for a Europa League semifinal.
It is disrespectful to his own teammates and the Spurs fans, and it should be the final straw for him.
There is no doubt that the Argentine is an excellent centre-back on his day, but he has had sustained bad spells of form through his Tottenham career as well and is thus very much replaceable.
