Dejan Kulusevski reveals he ‘couldn’t move for a month’ with latest Tottenham injury
Dejan Kulusevski has spoken about the foot injury which kept him out of Tottenham action for nearly two months and has revealed how he is feeling after making a return in recent weeks.
Kulusevski made his long-awaited return to action in Tottenham’s 4-2 loss against Wolves a little over a week ago, coming on as a substitute at Molineux Stadium.
The Swede made another substitute appearance in the club’s win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg in place of the injured James Maddison before making a start in Tottenham’s loss to Nottingham Forest on Monday night.
The 24-year-old has unsurprisingly looked rusty in his three outings so far, and he has now opened up on how close he is to 100 per cent fitness.

The former Juventus man might not have had the best of outings against Forest, but he almost found the back of the net, with his effort being cleared off the goalline by Harry Toffolo.
Understandably, Dejan Kulusevski was upset that Spurs fell to yet another loss, but he admitted that it feels good to be back playing football, explaining that he had to work very hard to recover from his stress fracture.
He said following Tottenham’s 2-1 loss to Forest (via Football.London): “I’m very angry [with the defeat], but you’ve got to think about the process. You can’t give up. It was good to be back playing football, I felt great and I’ve just got to be ready for the next game against Liverpool and then the Europa League.
“I feel great, I’ve done everything possible to feel good when I came back because I know that with a stress fracture, it’s not easy, because I couldn’t move for a month with a boot on my foot but I did everything right and thanks to that I’m fit now.
“I’m feeling great so nothing to complain about. Honestly, I feel great. First start since Ipswich, I came close to scoring. I take the positives, I rest tomorrow and I’ll be back the next day.”
Kulusevski blasts Tottenham’s defending against Forest
The versatile attacker was very critical of the way Tottenham Hotspur started the game and the soft goals they conceded, admitting that they will not be winning many games if they defend in the manner they did on Monday.
Kulusevski stressed the need for players to take more responsibility, insisting that the Lilywhites cannot allow their standards to drop.
He added: “We knew how they were going to play, the problem was that we conceded three goals in 10 minutes, with the offside goal. You can’t win football games if you do that. It’s too easy to score when you cross the ball and we don’t defend. So that made us play the game.
“We did our best, we did some good things. We created a lot of chances and in the end, we got a goal, but it was too late. Of course, we played good, but it’s not about that. We lacked the focus in the first 10 minutes.
“You’ve got to respect the game. It’s not good enough doing it against Frankfurt. It was important to get a win [there] but we can’t come out and concede these goals that we did now.
“Everybody has to take responsibility for that. Every player, every coach. It can’t happen and in the end, we lose points, points that we should not lose. It’s very frustrating and it’s been like this throughout this season, so it’s a lot to learn.”
