The Season So Far…
The Spiders slipped to ninth in the William Hill Championship table last weekend when our home defeat to Dunfermline combined with a win for Hamilton against Partick Thistle.
Airdrie also closed the gap at the bottom by taking a point against Raith Rovers.
However an SPFL Disciplinary Tribunal ruling, published on Thursday evening, docked Hamilton 15 points from their Championship tally, which has seen them drop to 10th in the table as it stands.
That development means anything other than a Hamilton win will see the Accies relegated, but the Spiders could equally cement our Championship status with a win – depending on Airdrie’s result. The Diamonds are five points behind Queen’s Park with two league fixtures to come after this weekend.
Head To Head
Hamilton have won the last two fixtures between the teams, though Jack Turner struck the winner in the first meeting of the season.
While the Spiders are on a difficult run of defeats, Hamilton have rallied recently, to record consecutive wins for only the second time this season before their SPFL deduction.
The match could also see the rare occurrence of brothers playing against one another – Accies defender Jackson Longridge is the younger sibling of our very own Spiders star Louis, who himself turned out more than 100 times for the NDP team.
