Red Sox Vs. White Sox Lineups: New Leadoff Hitter Starts
The Red Sox didn’t get off on the right foot to start their series against the Chicago White Sox, but they’ll look to rebounds Saturday.
Boston suffered an 11-1 loss at Guaranteed Rate Field after defensive errors and poor offense got in the way of Alex Cora’s side. They’ll look to turn the page in the middle matchup of the series.
Cora openly wanted to give Romy González and Rob Refsnyder more opportunities early in the season and did so when the Red Sox faced off against a left-handed pitcher. Boston’s manager went that direction again, but instead of Wilyer Abreu getting a day off, Jarren Duran will. González will move to the leadoff spot, and Refsnyder will bat cleanup in place of Triston Casas.
Carlos Narváez will be the backstop for Richard Fitts, who is seeking his first win of the season.
First pitch for the Red Sox-White Sox matchup is scheduled at 4:10 p.m. ET, and you can catch full coverage on NESN after an hour of pregame.
