Dejan Kulusevski is back in Tottenham training 6 days before Frankfurt clash
Ange Postecoglou reveals Dejan Kulusevski is back in Tottenham Hotspur training but will not be able to start against Wolves or Eintracht Frankfurt.
Tottenham Hotspur have been without one of their best players of the season for quite some time now.
Since picking up a knock before Spurs’ second-leg clash against AZ Alkmaar, Dejan Kulusevski hasn’t played a single minute for club or country.
It was initially expected that his foot injury would keep him out for just four games, however, that hasn’t been the case, as he has now missed ten matches in total.
Kulusevski back in training but won’t feature vs Wolves
Now, addressing the media, Ange Postecoglou has given an update on the fitness of the Swede, stating that he has now trained but isn’t in contention to play this weekend against Wolves.
He said: “Deki has trained today with the players who didn’t play last night. He looked really good. He’s not available this weekend and he won’t start on Thursday because he’s been out for so long but he’s looking good.”
It is definitely great news for Tottenham to see one of their standout performers back in training. It’s a timely boost for Spurs, who’ve missed his creativity and presence in the final third.
Tottenham hopeful Dejan Kulusevski can feature in Frankfurt
However, while the manager has revealed that Kulusevski won’t start the second leg against Eintracht Frankfurt, he revealed not too long ago that he could feature as a substitute.
When speaking about the fitness of Kulusevski and Danso, the Tottenham boss revealed that there is a chance Kulusevski will feature as a substitute in the second leg against Frankfurt.
Postecoglou said: “Touch and go. (Deki and Danso) are due to start training with the team probably, if not tomorrow, then early next week. I don’t think they are a possibility to start but Kulusevski has a chance to be involved.”
