Tottenham add two more names to list of Ange Postecoglou replacements

0 4

Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a potential replacement for Ange Postecoglou has taken another twist, with reports now claiming that two new names have been added to the club’s managerial shortlist.

It has been widely reported in recent weeks that Spurs already have a list of potential Ange Postecoglou successors lined up.

A few days ago, Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola was said to be at the top of Spurs’ shortlist, which also features Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Fulham’s Marco Silva.

However, with Postecoglou’s side struggling for form, speculation over his future continues to intensify, and fresh reports now suggest that Tottenham have expanded their shortlist with two new candidates.

Tottenham Hotspur add Inzaghi and Terzic to manager shortlist

According to journalist Paul O’Keefe, Tottenham Hotspur have added Simone Inzaghi and Edin Terzic to their list of managerial targets.

Inzaghi has enjoyed great success with Inter Milan, winning Serie A and two Coppa Italia titles, while also guiding the club to the 2023 Champions League final.

Meanwhile, Terzic, who left Borussia Dortmund in June 2024, is another name under consideration. The 42-year-old came agonisingly close to winning the Bundesliga in the 2022/23 season, only for Bayern Munich to snatch the title on the final day.

Last season, he led Dortmund to the Champions League final, where they fell short against Real Madrid.

O’Keefe has also hinted that former Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez could be on Spurs’ radar after he parted ways with the Spanish giants at the end of last season.

Tottenham fans’ reaction to the managerial shortlist

Many Spurs fans were unimpressed with the initial managerial shortlist featuring Iraola, Frank, and Silva, with many believing these options would not be a significant upgrade on Postecoglou. Some supporters even argued that the club would be better off sticking with the Australian.

However, the latest developments could be met with a more positive reception. Both Inzaghi and Terzic have experience competing at the highest level, and their pedigree could make them better suited to challenging the Premier League’s elite managers.
