Red Sox Vs. Rangers Lineups: Tanner Houck Starts After Opening Day Win

It was just one game of 162, but the Red Sox are undefeated heading into Friday, and they’ll look to continue to ride the good vibes at Globe Life Field.

Wilyer Abreu played Opening Day hero when he hit a go-ahead three-run home run in the top of the ninth inning. It was the second homer of the night for the Boston outfielder, and he’ll look for a repeat performance Friday night.

Manager Alex Cora will roll out the same lineup from Opening Day, which means another look at Kristian Campbell at second base. The top prospect’s debut went fine with a 1-for-3 outing. Boston’s bats hope to do better against Texas Rangers starter Jack Leiter.

Tanner Houck gets the nod Friday night as Boston’s No. 2 man. The right-hander admitted he didn’t care where in the order he pitched, but the Red Sox pitcher hopes to build off an All-Star campaign with a solid start against the Rangers.

First pitch for Red Sox-Rangers at Globe Life Field is scheduled at 8:05 p.m. ET, and you can check out full coverage on NESN starting at 7 p.m.
