Blow for Tottenham as FA suspension charge doesn’t go their way
Tottenham Hotspur have just been handed some bad news ahead of one of their upcoming clashes in April as they have learned that one of the Premier League’s most threatening forwards will be available to face them.
While Spurs’ main focus will be on the Europa League, Ange Postecoglou will also be keen to ensure the Lilywhites manage a respectable finish in the Premier League table.
Tottenham have a couple of tough away trips in April, including their trip to Wolves, which is sandwiched between the two legs against Eintracht Frankfurt.

One would thus expect Postecoglou to rotate his Spurs squad significantly for his side’s trip to Molineux Stadium, and the Lilywhites have just learned why the match will be a lot harder than they might have anticipated.
Matheus Cunha is available to face Tottenham
Spurs would have been hoping that Matheus Cunha would have been ruled out of that clash after his sending-off and outburst in the FA Cup fifth-round clash against Bournemouth.
Cunha was sent off for kicking and headbutting defender Milos Kerkez, and while making his way out of the pitch, the Brazilian argued with officials and lashed out at teammates and staff.
He thus faced the risk of a further ban, in addition to a three-match suspension for the straight red card.
Express and Sport have now confirmed that the Wolves man has now been hit with an extra one-match ban for his behaviour alongside a £50,000 fine.
That means that he will miss Wolves’ away trip to Ipswich Town on April 5, but will be back available to face Tottenham at home on April 13.
Spurs are admirers of Cunha ahead of the summer
Over the past few months, a number of reports have claimed that Spurs are plotting a move for Cunha when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
It has been suggested that Tottenham are considering activating Cunha’s £62m release clause, but his behaviour against Bournemouth could cause the North London club to have second thoughts.
We know that Ange Postecoglou is very particular about wanting to bring the right sort of character through the door, and he may not have been impressed by what he saw from the 25-year-old at the Vitality Stadium a few weeks ago.
