0 15

A great matchday experience is about more than just the action on the pitch—it’s the energy in the stands, the music pumping through the speakers and the voices that bring the stadium to life. At Chicago Stars FC, a talented team of hosts, DJs and announcers ensures every match is an unforgettable event.

From hyping up the crowd to setting the perfect soundtrack, these in-stadium personalities play a crucial role in creating the electric atmosphere that makes Chicago Stars matches so special. Get to know the voices and beats behind the excitement!

In-Stadium Host – Genna Rose
Genna Rose has been a staple of the local sports scene since 2021. In addition to her role with Chicago Stars FC, she serves as the in-arena host for the Chicago Blackhawks, Milwaukee Bucks and Athletes Unlimited Professional Women’s Softball. A former college athlete, Genna is passionate about working in women’s sports and is excited to return for her second season as the first in-stadium host for the Chicago Stars.

Originally from Michigan, Genna now calls Chicago home. In her free time, she enjoys playing Chicago-style softball, golfing and tackling escape rooms.

In-Stadium DJ – DJ Cabrera
Jay Cabrera, a Marquette University graduate and Arlington Heights resident, brings a wealth of experience to the Chicago Stars. He has served as a DJ for several Chicago teams, including the Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs and Fire.

Outside of sports, DJ Cabrera is a headlining DJ at the Windy City Smokeout country music festival at the United Center. Now entering his second season as the official DJ of the Chicago Stars, he continues to set the perfect matchday atmosphere.

Public Address Announcer – Rebecca Ortiz
A Northwest suburbs native, Rebecca Ortiz is a graduate of Cary-Grove High School and Columbia College Chicago. She has spent the past two decades working in radio, voice-over and audio production.

For the last 17 years, Rebecca has been an on-air personality for B96, where she also hosts Chicago Connection, a community service show airing on B96, 104.3 JAMS, and US99. Her experience as a PA announcer includes working with the Chicago Blackhawks for International Women’s Day and the NHL Draft. Now entering her fourth season with the Chicago Stars, Rebecca’s voice is a defining part of the matchday experience.

Plaza DJ – DJ Tess
DJ Tess moved to Chicago from Baton Rouge as a visual artist and designer but soon found her passion in music. She began collecting records in 2009 and co-founded the award-winning dance party Slo ‘Mo in 2011.

Known for her dynamic energy and seamless blending of old-school classics with modern hits, DJ Tess holds multiple DJ residencies across Chicago, including at Celeste and Soho House. As an avid vinyl collector, she takes pride in curating unique, all-vinyl sets. Entering her second season as the official prematch DJ for the Chicago Stars, she continues to bring electric energy to the plaza.

Backup Hosts & DJs
When Genna and DJ Cabrera are unavailable, keep an eye out for alternate hosts and DJs, including DJ Step, DJ Boy Wonder and host Lexi Ayala.
