Tottenham would have no problem poaching Premier League manager thanks to release clause
A fresh report has now claimed that rather than Andoni Iraola, Tottenham Hotspur may turn to another Premier League manager to replace Ange Postecogluo this summer, with the Lilywhites not expected to have any difficulty in getting him through the door.
Ange Postecoglou’s future at the club continues to be the subject of much speculation, which is understandable given Tottenham’s continued struggles in the Premier League.
According to various reports, Postecoglou has been told he will be sacked if he does not secure European qualification for next season.
It has even been suggested that Spurs have already reached out to Andoni Iraola regarding taking over at N17 at the end of this campaign.
Tottenham have not ruled out an approach for Thomas Frank
GiveMeSport have now confirmed that Iraola is indeed Spurs’ top managerial target should they decide to part ways with Postecoglou.
However, he is not the only manager on Tottenham’s shortlist, with Thomas Frank also being one of the candidates in contention for the job.
It is explained that the Belgian coach is admired for the impressive work he has done at the Vitality Stadium, helping the Bees get promoted to the top flight and establishing them as a Premier League force.
The outlet points out that Frank’s contract with Brentford has a release clause, which means that Spurs will have ‘no problem poaching him’ as long as the 51-year-old is keen on the move.
Tottenham also considering a shock move for a recently-sacked manager
While Tottenham’s interest in Frank may divide opinion among the Spurs fan base, we also saw a curious name being put forward a couple of days ago as a possible option to replace Postecoglou.
It was claimed that Russel Martin has emerged as a shock target for Tottenham, just three months on from losing his job at Southampton.
The outlet explained that even though the Englishman struggled at St Mary’s, some at Spurs think that his possession-based approach will work better with players of a higher calibre.
