0 2

The first action of the game fell to the hosts, as danger man Richard Chin unleashed an effort towards goal, but it was blocked by the visiting defence.

As ever, Farnborough’s own Reggie Young proved to be crucial for The Yellows, as he put in a last-ditch challenge to deny the visitors a chance on Jack Turner’s goal.

First blood was drawn to the former National League outfit, as the Vanarama National League South’s top goalscorer Kwesi Appiah fired the visitors ahead from Tom Wheelan’s corner, beating Jack Turner at his near post.

Charlie O’Connell found himself in a tight tussle with Richard Chin – the main Farnborough danger man on the night – O’Connell escaped somehow without a caution from the Referee.

HALF-TIME: Farnborough 0 Boreham Wood 1

The second half began as Farnborough continued their hunt for an equaliser against Luke Garrard’s title-chasing Boreham Wood.

It began with some good pressure from the Farnborough midfield and attack, with AFC Bournemouth loanee Jonny Stuttle being a nuisance and working hard as always.

A well-worked move for Boro saw Joe Haigh’s effort fly well over the Wood’s net after a clever move.

It was constant pressure, but without the end product for Farnborough as the Boreham Wood backline shut up shop, defending very well.

Farnborough hopes were shot on 89 minutes, as the visitors doubled their through substitute Abdul Abdulmalik who found the bottom corner after Jayden Richardson kept the ball alive.
