Patriots Target Agrees To Devastating Deal Before Free Agency
The New England Patriots will have to make new plans before free agency opens on Wednesday.
Ronnie Stanley agreed to a three-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. Stanley’s move was confirmed by the club, who reveled in taking one of the most high-profile free agents off the board.
Stanley’s deal is worth $60 million, per Rapoport.
The Patriots intended to “aggressively pursue” the veteran offensive tackle, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss, citing intel from an executive at the scouting combine. Stanley was slated to be one of the best overall players set to hit free agency next week.
New England will now be forced to pivot, with Minnesota Vikings tackle Cam Robinson and Pittsburgh Steelers tackle Dan Moore appearing to be the best available options at the position.
