Boyle: We Need To Be Clinical
Hibernian forward Martin Boyle insists the Hibees need to show a clinical edge if we are to get a positive result against Celtic this weekend.
We host the league leaders at Easter Road this Saturday and come into it full of confidence having gone the last 12 matches unbeaten.
That run stretches back to our last fixture with Celtic in early January – where we fell to a 3-0 defeat at Parkhead, despite creating several clear-cut opportunities.
Looking ahead to this weekend’s fixture, Boyle highlighted how important it is to take our chances this Saturday.
“We’re scoring a lot more goals and we’ve picked up a lot of points since we last played Celtic.
“We have to manage the game – it is an extremely difficult test, we all know that. They are a sharp team and will cause us problems up front, but we know that if we are at it defensively - and if we are clinical when we get chances - then we can cause them problems.
“We will look to get after them early doors and cause them some problems then hopefully we can get a positive result.
“We’re at home as well, so we will have our fans behind us so as long as we can stay in the game, then we will have a good chance.”
We currently sit fifth in the William Hill Premiership table and with seven games to go before the split – it is all to play for.
“We’re trying to make a mark,” Boyle continued.
“We’ve massively improved from where we were at, which is great, but we can’t stop now. We have a long way to go. We’ve just been sticking to the Manager’s ideas and just trying to catch the team in front of us. Hopefully, we can secure that top six and push on from there.”
