'Unlikely': Sky Sports confirm fresh £32m transfer blow for Man United on deadline day

0 2

Manchester United have suffered another frustrating blow on transfer deadline day.

According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa are unlikely to let Leon Bailey leave in this transfer window.

With Marcus Rashford off to Villa and Antony heading to Real Betis, United’s attack now looks worryingly thin on quality and depth.

Manager Ruben Amorim must rely on Joshua Zirkzee, Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo as his only remaining attacking options.

The Red Devils were eyeing for a late move Bayern Munich wonderkid Mathys Tel. However, the two clubs failed to reach an agreement about a loan deal.

Tel is currently expected to join Tottenham Hotspur on loan for the remainder of the season.

United considered a shock transfer swoop for Bailey, but Villa rejected their approach.

The Jamaican international has failed to hit the heights many had hoped for under Villa manager Unai Emery.

The £32 million-rated ace has bagged only one goal and two assists in 20 Premier League outings.

His potential arrival at Old Trafford would have sparked a divided reaction from United fans, with some questioning if he could make a significant impact.

However, with United’s pressing need for reinforcements up front, failing to sign anyone at all could leave them in a worse position than taking a gamble on Bailey.

With just a few hours remaining in the window, it seems like INEOS are set to let down Amorim and the fans with their approach.
