Tottenham loan academy gem to Championship side pushing for play-offs
Tottenham forward Will Lankshear has officially completed a loan move to West Bromwich Albion until the end of the season.
Will Lankshear’s impressive rise at Tottenham
Will Lankshear is rated as one of the most promising young talents at Hotspur Way and the striker’s impressive displays for the Under-21s over the last 18 months have seen him rewarded with first-team opportunities.
The 19-year-old has made six appearances for Ange Postecoglou’s men so far this season, scoring his first senior goal for the club away at Galatasaray in the Europa League back in November.
The teenager will now get a chance to prove his mettle in the EFL, having completed his first loan move away from Tottenham.
Will Lankshear seals loan move to West Brom
Just a couple of days after Yang Min-hyeok was loaned out to Queens Park Rangers. Tottenham have now decided to send Lankshear to the Championship as well, with the centre-forward linking up with West Brom for the remainder of the campaign.
He will be joining a Baggies side who are sitting in sixth place on the table and are firmly in the race for the playoff spots.
However, West Brom have struggled to score goals, having found the back of the net just 38 times in 30 league matches so far. The Spurs academy striker has now been brought in to help remedy that problem.
A huge opportunity for Lankshear to catch Ange Postecoglou’s eye
With Alejo Veliz and Dane Scarlett both struggling to impress out on loan, Lankshear now has a huge opportunity to catch Postecoglou’s eye.
Given that this is just a four-month loan, the teenager would have to fit in quickly and get going straight away, which will not be easy.
The centre-forward will be hoping to get regular game time and would perhaps be setting a target of around eight to 10 goals for the remainder of the campaign.
