Man Utd agree €60m deal for player Amorim believes is ‘very talented ‘ & ‘very strong physically’ - report

Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Sporting CP right wing-back Geovany Quenda ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola.

The Red Devils have had the 17-year-old on their radar before the arrival of Ruben Amorim as their head coach, and a reunion between him and the Portuguese boss at the Old Trafford club is now guaranteed in a €60 million deal.

The Man United boss wants to bolster his wings and was open to going after Quenda this January, but both clubs have agreed to a summer move having been in talks for months, with the transfer certain.

Amorim recently praised the Sporting star for being ‘very talented ‘ and ‘very strong physically’, and, unsurprisingly, he wants to work with him again.

The Portugal youth international has played 34 games across all competitions so far this term, weighing in with two goals and six assists, and Man United need such a player on their right wing.

Amorim has struggled to replicate his success at the Portuguese top-flight club at the Old Trafford club as the current players have not fully adapted to his 3-4-3 formation.

It is why a move for Quenda makes plenty of sense, and the Man United boss could also go after one or two players from his old club.

The teenage sensation can also play on the left wing, with dribbling, playing through balls, key passes, taking set-pieces and holding on to the ball some of his major strengths.

Quenda is not the finished article and he still has plenty of work to do with his tackling and finishing, but Amorim will fancy his chances of making him one of the best wingers in the world after they reunite, and Man United fans will hope the reports from Portugal are true.

The Red Devils need a major squad overhaul to return to the pinnacle of English and European football soon, and landing players like Quenda will go a long way in helping to restore their last glory and bring back the greatness of yesteryears.
