Tottenham find out how much Mathys Tel will cost in January
Tottenham Hotspur have just learned that they would have to pay a huge fee in order to secure the services of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich before Monday evening’s transfer deadline.
Tottenham eye permanent move for Mathys Tel
Unless you have been living under a rock over the last 24 hours, you will be aware that Tottenham are one of several Premier League clubs making advances towards a late deal for Tel after learning that the player has asked to leave Bayern Munich.
This information has been confirmed by the likes of Fabrizio Romano and L’Equipe, who have claimed that unlike some of their Premier League rivals, Spurs are trying to sign Tel permanently rather than on a loan deal.
Meanwhile, Bayern director Max Eberl has confirmed that a temporary and permanent transfer are both on the cards for the winger in the final days of the window.
How much would Mathys Tel cost Tottenham?
A fresh update by RMC Sports reporter Fabrice Hawkins has now claimed that Aston Villa have also entered the race to sign the Frenchman.
He backs up what we have heard from other sources over by naming Spurs, Arsenal and Man Utd as the three other Premier League sides pushing for a late deal for Tel.
Hawkins asserts that Bayern have told interested parties that they would have to stump up a fee of around €50m-€60m (£41.8m-£50.1m) if they wish to sign the winger permanently.
Spurs a financial advantage over other suitors
Tottenham hold a big financial advantage over the likes of Aston Villa and Man Utd as the North London club are in a comfortable position with respect to PSR.
That means that the Lilywhites will likely be able to make a much more lucrative offer than the Villans or the Red Devils, who are both likely to explore loan deals for Tel.
However, the challenge Postecoglou‘s men will face is in convincing the youngster that he can fulfil his ambitions at N17, given their current position in the table.
