Tottenham face competition from Bayern Munich to sign English starlet

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to agree a deal late in the transfer window for an English wonderkid, but a number of other clubs are interested in securing his services.

A look at Tottenham transfer target Tyler Dibling

Tyler Dibling is one of the country’s most promising young talents. While Southampton are enduring a difficult season in the Premier League, Dibling has impressed, making 20 appearances in the competition.

This season, Dibling has scored four goals in all competitions. He has also registered two assists in the Carabao Cup, both coming in a 5-3 victory over Cardiff City in August.

Starring for both club and country, the Exeter-born midfielder has also represented England at a variety of youth levels, most recently playing for their under-21s team.

Tottenham want to sign Tyler Dibling

Spurs have had a quiet transfer window so far, but they have been linked with Dibling. It was recently reported that Ange Postecoglou’s men wanted to sign Dibling as early as this month, but would consider a summer switch if this move failed.

The Sun have offered an update, revealing that Spurs are working to get a deal over the line this month for the 18-year-old. However, Manchester United are also interested in Dibling, along with Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.

Bayern believe the chance to play with Harry Kane could convince Dibling to join them.         

Any club attempting to sign the youngster has a difficult task though, as Southampton do not want to sell him in January. Dibling is seen as ‘vital’ in providing the Saints with any chance of avoiding the drop.

Dibling has created 14 big chances this season and would be an exciting addition to the Tottenham first-team squad. Completing a deal will not be easy for Spurs and they will have to convince the youngster that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the right place for him to develop.   

Mathys Tel could impact Tyler Dibling plan

Tottenham are still yet to finalise a deal for anyone except Antonin Kinsky, despite having a number of players missing through injury. Postecoglou’s men have clearly struggled to cope with the tough situation, as they sit 15th in the Premier League Table. Therefore, a new signing is a necessity.

That new signing could come in the form of Mathys Tel – with Spurs reportedly agreeing a fee for the 19-year-old French winger. Rather ironically, Tel currently plays for Bayern Munich, one of the clubs reported to be in the race for Dibling.

Thus, it remains to be seen whether Tottenham will have to make a choice between one or the other for the time being.
