Yankees’ Aaron Boone Still Bothered By This From World Series Loss

The New York Yankees never got rolling in the 2024 World Series as the Los Angeles Dodgers captured the championship in five games.

Select players such as former Boston Red Sox reliever Joe Kelly and other Dodgers celebrated the win with a few extra jabs about mistakes that plagued New York at times during the year and certainly in the Fall Classic on the base paths and defensively.

New York manager Aaron Boone still takes exception to such pointed comments at his ballclub three months after the final out at Yankee Stadium.

“I didn’t like it,” Boone shared on WFAN Tuesday. “They won. They had that right. Couple of the people saying some things like, ‘Did you see what you did this year?’ They won the World Series. We didn’t play our best. They’re flying high right now. We’ll try and get back to that stage and hopefully punch through.”

The Dodgers closed out the series in New York after a Game 5 meltdown from the Yankees sealed the deal. New York added talent in Max Fried and Cody Bellinger in an attempt to return to the grand stage in 2025.

“They won,” Boone added. “Hopefully we win and handle ourselves better.”
