Yang Min-hyeok loan could be good news for Tottenham transfer

0 3

Alasdair Gold has revealed Yang Min-hyeok could head out on loan in January if Tottenham manage to bring in another attack. By that logic, rumours of a move to QPR could be exciting for Spurs fans.

Yang Min-hyeok still waiting for his Tottenham bow

Yang linked up with the Tottenham squad back in December, but more than a month into his time at Hotspur Way, the youngster is yet to feature for the Lilywhites, even as a substitute.

This is despite the fact that Ange Postecolgou is dealing with a major injury crisis and has repeatedly bemoaned the lack of options available to him at the moment.

A fresh update has now suggested that the South Korean might not be at Spurs for too long.

Tottenham’s plan regarding Yang Min-hyeok

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now clarified that Postecoglou does not see Yang ‘as an option right now’, with the winger not considered to be ready for Premier League football.

Gold points out that the conundrum highlights the challenges of the club’s current transfer policy of buying youngsters for the future rather than readymade players.

The journalist adds that the teenager could be loaned out before the February 3 deadline if Spurs manage to bring in another attacker.

This comes as Sports Chosun report that Yang is close to a loan move to Queens Park Rangers. Putting two and two together, if Gold’s claim is accurate, it could hint that Tottenham expect to bring in another attacker in the next week.

Tottenham’s transfer policy has worked

While a lot of fans are understandably impatient with the club’s current transfer policy, we have seen it bear fruit.

The likes of Pape Sarr, and Djed Spence both joined as young, unproven players (although they were both Fabio Paratici signings), but both have become important first-team members.

Both Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray look like they could develop into top-class players who are worth considerably more than what Tottenham paid for them, and there is no reason to think Wilson Odobert will not do the same.

However, there is no doubt that Spurs need to balance signings like this with more experienced additions who can hit the ground running.
