Girls Academy Pair Receive Scotland Call-Ups
Two Hibernian Girls Academy stars have been called up to the Scotland Women's Under-17 squad for next month's MIMA Cup.
Rowena Armitage and Ava Dunbar have both been selected to travel to Spain for the competition by Under-17's head coach Michael Tuohy.
Armitage has multiple caps at youth level for Scotland and made her first senior appearance for Hibernian in a Sky Sports Cup victory over Aberdeen in October 2023.
The young keeper has impressed on loan at fellow ScottishPower Women's Premier League club Montrose this season, where she has spent the majority of the current campaign so far.
Dunbar was most recently named in Scotland's Under-16 squad. The defender started in both double-header meetings versus the Republic of Ireland in November 2024.
Tuohy has named a squad of 24 for the tournament - which is taking place for the fifth time in its history.
Scotland reached last year's final before losing out to England in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain.
Women’s First-Team Assistant Manager & Head of Girls Performance Academy Stewart Hall commented: "We want to wish the players and staff of the Women's Under-17s squad all the best out in Pinatar for the MIMA Cup.
"It’s great to have Rowena selected again and Ava selected for the Under-17s for the first time.
"It’s gives us great pride to have academy players recognised and shows that the Next Gen Academy is developing players of youth international level."
