Tottenham player ratings vs Arsenal – 8/10 for one player despite NLD defeat
It’s full-time at the Emirates Stadium after a disappointing derby day defeat for Spurs against Arsenal. Tonight’s loss means Tottenham’s winless Premier League run has been extended to five matches. Let’s take a look at our player ratings for Tottenham vs Arsenal.
Tottenham player ratings vs Arsenal
Antonin Kinsky – Made some commanding saves, but continuously held onto the ball for too long and almost gave away a cheap goal as a result. Kinsky looks like a quality goalkeeper, but he needs the intelligence to go with it. 5
Pedro Porro – Once again Porro has failed to offer any real contributions anywhere on the pitch, other than hitting the outside of the post in stoppage time. There were moments when he abandoned his position in Tottenham’s back four. It’s strange to think he was linked with Real Madrid and Manchester City a few months ago. 4
Radu Dragusin – He was beaten in the air for Arsenal’s opening goal. Dragusin is currently Tottenham’s only available centre-back by trade, but often you’d think he was the one having to play out of position. 4
Archie Gray – Another positive performance from Gray. He wasn’t at fault for any of the goals and made a few solid blocks when the ball was crossed into the box. 7
Djed Spence – Deserved an assist for an excellent cross to Solanke in the first half. Sometimes he just needs to kick the ball up the pitch to relieve pressure though, rather than always attempting the dribble. 6
Pape Matar Sarr – Picked up an unnecessary booking and was subbed at half-time. 5
Yves Bissouma – Gave the ball away to give Arsenal the lead and was hooked by Ange Postecoglou during the interval. 3.5
Lucas Bergvall – When you make your way out of the stadium, you’ll probably bump into Bergvall in the car park because this guy is everywhere. Another spirited performance for the Tottenham youngster who gives his absolute all every time he gets the opportunity. 8
Dejan Kulusevski – Had a quiet first half, but was more involved in the second with one or two creative moments. Still, he was unable to affect the game the way he often does. 6
Dominic Solanke – Failed to keep hold of the ball when he was in possession. An unusually poor display from one of Tottenham’s more consistent players. 5
Heung-min-Son – Opened the scoring through a deflected effort, but was switched out for Richarlison with around 20 minutes still to play. He didn’t build on his promising first-half display. 6
Substitutes:
James Maddison – Tottenham’s top scorer in the Premier League failed to make an impact when he came on. 5
Brennan Johnson – Looked a bit isolated on the right wing. Johnson has scored seven league goals this season, but a number of his performances have been unconvincing. 5
Richarlison – It was good to see the Brazilian forward return to the pitch for the first time since early November and he played a decent ball to Solanke with five minutes of regular time left to play. N/A
