Tottenham have some momentum heading into the NLD

Spurs have had a mini resurgence ahead over the last week, with wins in the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, and Ange Postecoglou‘s men thus head into the clash at the Emirates with a bit more belief and confidence.

The Gunners, who have their eyes set on the Premier League title, need all three points to keep pace with Liverpool.

We know that Postecoglou is also not one to play for the draw, which is why one would expect plenty of fireworks on Wednesday, which one gets more often than not in a North London Derby.

Arsenal would love to have Tottenham star

While Tottenham’s injury issues are well documented, Arsenal also come into this game without a few players, including striker Gabriel Jesus, who picked up an injury in their FA Cup loss on penalties to Man Utd on Sunday.

Bridges believes that Mikel Arteta would bite your hand off for a number nine like Dominic Solanke at the moment and suggested that the Spurs striker can cause the home side a lot of issues.

The former Leeds midfielder told The Optus Sport Football Podcast: “It’s going to affect them and when I look at the goalscorer for Tottenham Hotspur in Solanke, Arsenal would be crying out if they could have a player of his quality in front of goal.

“I’ve seen Isak come here and destroy Arsenal’s back four as well when he’s played so it’s something they’ve got to look out for.”

A win can rejuvenate Tottenham’s season

Bridges believes that even though Tottenham have been on a poor run over the last couple of months, they are catching Arsenal at the right time.

He suggested that a win on Wednesday could be the catalyst for the Lilywhites to get their season back on track.

Bridges added: “Going into this fixture after the defeat, Tottenham have got a right opportunity to make something of this game and probably revitalise or rejuvenate their season.

“You can have a dodgy start to the season like Ange has had, you can say there’s been injuries, but when you’re playing in the north London derby, this fixture, you’ve got to win it.”
