Serie A club wants Man Utd star this month, could give hitman with 94 goals/assists in exchange - report
Napoli are keen on signing Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford this month and could give Victor Osimhen in exchange for the Red Devils star, according to the Sun.
The Man United academy graduate is out of favour at the Old Trafford club and is expected to leave before the end of the January transfer window, but he wants to play for one of the bigwigs and has rejected the chance to double his wages by moving to the Saudi Pro League.
Napoli are offering Rashford an opportunity, with manager Antonio Conte keen, and that could hand the Red Devils the chance to land Osimhen.
The Nigeria international hitman, who has 76 goals and 18 assists in 133 games for the Serie A club, is currently on loan in the Super Lig with Galatasaray, where he has 12 goals and five assists in 15 appearances so far.
However, Napoli have the option to cut short the loan deal this month and could do so should they firm up their interest in Rashford.
Man United have been keen on recruiting the services of Osimhen for a while and could finally get the opportunity to land their man for the second half of 2024-25.
Their head coach Ruben Amorim could do with such a player in his attack following an underwhelming start to life as the Red Devils boss, and the arrival of the Nigerian will come as a much-needed boost.
Osimhen dreams of playing in the Premier League, and he could relish the chance to join Man United if they come calling after a move to Chelsea fell through last summer.
The 26-year-old has proven his quality in front of goal in recent campaigns, and getting him could be of great help to the Red Devils as they look to finish the season well and return to the top of English and European football going forward.
