Tottenham’s injury situation going from bad to worse

Every time that Spurs fans think they have seen the worst of the club’s injury crisis, the situation seems to get even more grim.

Currently, the Lilywhites are without Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Ben Davies, Richarlison, Wilson Odobert, and Mikey Moore, while Udogie became the latest to join the list in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Wolves on Sunday.

The left-back pulled up with what looked like a hamstring problem at the start of the second-half, and it now looks like Spurs’ worst fears have been realised.

Injury update on Destiny Udogie at Tottenham

Udogie was sidelined for around three months towards the end of last season with a major hamstring problem, which is why Ange Postecolgou would have had his heart on his mouth when the Italian went down clutching his hamstring.

Paul O Keefe, who has his finger on the pulse on the developments at Hotspur Way, has now confirmed that the defender now faces another length spell on the treatment table, expected to be out for six to 10 weeks.

Will this impact Tottenham’s January plans?

If Spurs were previously on the fence about whether or not they would enter the market for a left-back in the January window, this news would have dispelled all doubt.

The club have no other natural left-back in the squad, and it might thus be the first position that they address this month.

While Djed Spence has shown that he is more than capable of playing that role, Postecoglou will need options to rotate his squad, with games continuing to come thick and fast.
