Alasdair Gold explains Ange Postecoglou's plans for Yang Min-hyuk
Ange Postecoglou has revealed what Ange Postecoglou has planned for Yang Min-hyuk as the winger looks set for an early arrival at Tottenham.
Yang Min-hyuk will arrive at Spurs next month
Tottenham signed Yang in a £3.3m deal from Gangwon FC back in the summer and the initial plan was for him to arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in January.
However, it has since emerged that Spurs want the 18-year-old to link up with their squad as early as next month (Sports ChoSun).
Ange Postecoglou is currently without both Richarlison and Wilson Odobert, who are both out injured, with the South Korean’s arrival expected to bolster his options out wide.
Ange Postecoglou’s plans for Yang revealed
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now confirmed that Yang will indeed arrive at Tottenham in December, but the journalist revealed the teenager will not have a prominent first-team role as soon as he walks through the door.
He explains that Postecoglou will give the youngster plenty of time to adapt to his new surroundings and is expected to slowly introduce him into first-team proceedings.
Gold stated that since Yang is coming off his first full season of professional football, Spurs are aware that it will be challenging for the player to be thrown straight into the cauldron that is Premier League football.
Lucas Bergvall’s situation sheds light on Yang’s challenges
Yang is seen as one of the best young talents in South Korean football, but he is still very raw and will have a steep learning curve in the Premier League, given the huge step he is making.
Lucas Bergvall‘s experiences at Spurs have shown just how challenging it can be to make such a huge step so early in one’s career.
Just like the Swede, the winger will need time to come to grips with the pressure associated with playing for a club of Tottenham’s stature.
