NFL Rumors: When Tua Tagovailoa Could Make Dolphins Return

NFL fans grew concerned about Tua Tagovailo’s future, but it appears the Dolphins quarterback is ramping up toward a return this season.

Tagovailoa suffered his third diagnosed concussion of his NFL career when he took a hit during Miami’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2. The Dolphins placed the signal-caller on injured reserve, putting him out of action for at least four games. The NFL said it would not step in and would allow independent and team doctors to determine the 26-year-old’s future

Head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed this week that the team expects Tagovailoa to return this season. The Athletic’s Dianna Russini on Saturday reported the “hope” is for the QB to play next Sunday in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals.

McDaniel was open about caring for Tagovailoa as a person, and fans hope the team has the fifth-year quarterback’s best interest. There also is an on-field incentive for Miami to get their starter back on the field. Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley were abysmal in relief for Tagovailoa, and the offense looked like a shell of itself.

The New England Patriots didn’t take advantage of Huntley and lost to the Dolphins in Week 5, and assuming Tagovailoa can finish the season, they’ll face him in Week 12 at Hard Rock Stadium.
