The German replaces Gareth Southgate, who resigned in July after England’s Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain.

He becomes the third non-British permanent manager of the men’s team after Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello.

And though Tuchel has never managed at international level before, he arrives having won the Champions League with Chelsea and domestic titles with PSG and Bayern Munich.

He’s also had experience managing several English players with captain Harry Kane thriving under his leadership at Bayern, scoring 36 goals and assisting eight in 32 Bundesliga appearances.

With that said, talkSPORT BET have priced England at 7/1 to win the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and USA.

They still trail market-leaders France and Spain, who are both available at 6/1.

The French have won the World Cup on two occasions in 1998 and 2018, and boast a stacked squad spearheaded by Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe.

Meanwhile Spain were mightily impressive when winning Euro 2024 under manager Luis de la Fuente.

The depth and youth of their squad stands them in great stead to be competitive in North America, and it’s no surprise to see their price with Nico Williams and teenage sensation Lamine Yamal at their disposal.

Brazil (7/1) are always well-backed in this competition given their history, and that history is perhaps why they are a fraction ahead of 8/1 holders Argentina in the betting markets.
