Patriots Offensive Line ‘Issue’ Continues With Two More Injuries

The New England Patriots have no stability, no cohesiveness and frankly no ability to perform with their offensive line this season.

David Andrews, the lone stable option at center and a team captain, is out for the season and the Patriots still operate without 2022 first-rounder Cole Strange. Week 6 brought more change with Ben Brown, who was signed off the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad Wednesday, starting at center. And more changed followed when Vederian Lowe and Michael Jordan went down with injuries in a brutal 41-21 loss to the Houston Texans.

Head coach Jerod Mayo has plenty of issues to deal with in his first season leading the Patriots. The offensive line, which allowed four sacks in Drake Maye’s first NFL start, stands out from the rest.

“It’s very tough,” Mayo told reporters, per a team-provided transcript. “Every single week it’s a different combination of players. It’s tough for those guys to really build that camaraderie or that communication. But again, like the backup players, they have to prepare like they’re starters every week. We’ll see how we came out of this game, but it’s definitely an issue for us.”

The Patriots seek improvement and stability in an attempt to break a five-game losing streak in Week 7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
