How Bill Belichick’s Son Reacted To Dad Joining Instagram

New England Patriots legend Bill Belichick caused quite the stir Wednesday and it had nothing to do with football.

The 72-year-old was often a critic of his players being on social media, going out of his way to call the platforms by the wrong name. But now, Belichick is one of them as he decided to join the social media world by getting an Instagram account.

It all seems part of Belichick's newfound persona as he took on several media gigs since he won't be on an NFL sideline this season for the first time in 49 years. It still could be seen as an odd move by Belichick, but his son Brian Belichick, who serves as the current Patriots safeties coach, is glad his father went for it.

"Yeah, Instaface. It was surprising," Brian Belichick told reporters Thursday, per MassLive's Mark Daniels. "But yeah, I'm happy that he's getting to experience a little more of life in the 21st century nowadays. It's good."

Bill Belichick won't just be scrolling through Instagram reels to pass the time this season as he looks on from the outside. He fully threw himself into becoming a member of the media and will appear on a number of different shows that it's becoming hard to keep track of how many he's doing.

Belichick will be a regular guest on "The Pat McAfee Show" and the "ManningCast" while also doing a 30-minute show with Peyton Manning called "The Breakdown" to preview Monday Night Football games. He took Tom Brady's spot as co-host of SiriusXM’s "Let’s Go!" podcast as well and has his own weekly show through Underdog Fantasy called "Coach, with Bill Belichick," which also features former Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia.

If that wasn't enough, Belichick will join "Inside The NFL" this season, too.

Belichick will probably use his Instagram to promote all of his media appearances as he tries his best to stay connected to football without being a coach.

"I mean, he's been a very busy person for his whole life," Brian Belichick said. "So, no, I'm not surprised that he's keeping busy and enjoying it. I'm happy for it."
