It was undoubtedly the right time for Tottenham to cut their losses with Giovanni Lo Celso after their initial £27.2 million investment in the creative midfielder.

Injuries, like Tottenham’s other signings in the 2019 transfer window, plagued Lo Celso’s career to the point where he lost all rhythm, making it understandable why Spurs have cashed in on the Argentinian international who in the final year of his deal and out of favour under Ange Postecoglou.
