Report: Forward linked with Spurs is available for just £25m on deadline day

According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Baris Alper Yilmaz, who has been linked with a potential move to Tottenham all summer, could be set to stay at Galatasaray as no club has met the Istanbul club’s asking price so far.

Spurs were linked with Yilmaz this summer

Yilmaz has emerged as one of the most exciting attackers in the Turkish top flight over the last couple of years and the winger’s stock grew further in light of his impressive showing at the Euros this summer.

It was reported at the start of the summer that Tottenham were one of several big hitters from across Europe battling it out for the attacker’s signature (HITC)

It was later reported by Milliyet last month that the Lilywhites were ready to push the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool for the 24-year-old’s signature.

Yilmaz may be set to stay at Galatasaray

However, no transfer has materialised so far for the Turkey international, with Plettenberg revealing that the wide-forward looks set to stay at RAMS Park.

That is unless one of the clubs decides to meet Galatasaray’s asking price of over €30m (£25.5m) before the 11 pm deadline.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would not be surprised if a Premier League, La Liga or Serie A side secured a late deal for Yilmaz as £25m is not an excessive asking price for an attacker of his quality.

However, Tottenham are not likely to make a move, with Ange Postecoglou well-stocked with options across the frontline.
