Leny Yoro makes his feelings pretty clear over fresh Man United development

0 0

Manchester United have sold Tunisia international midfielder Hannibal Mejbri to Championship club Burnley today in an initial £5.4 million deal, with the fee potentially rising to £9.4m, with additional sell-on and buy-back clauses.

The 21-year-old joined the Red Devils academy in 2019 from AS Monaco, making his first-team debut in May 2021, but ended up playing just 13 times for them, scoring once.

Hannibal spent most of his time at Man United out on loan, spending the entire 2022-23 on loan in the Championship with Birmingham City.

The midfielder moved to Sevilla for the second half of last term and will now look to establish himself as a regular player with the Clarets as they eye an instant return to the Premier League this term.

Man United players have been reacting to the departure of Hannibal on social media platform Instagram, with summer arrival Leny Yoro also making his feelings for the France-born Tunisian clear.

Hannibal revealed earlier this month that he had struck up a friendship with the French centre-back, and the former Lille star will miss him from the look of things.

The 27-cap Tunisia international was far from pleased with his situation at Man United before leaving, opening up on his frustration at not getting more game time after a brilliant performance against Brighton & Hove Albion in September 2023 – when he scored his only goal for the Red Devils.

Hannibal made it clear that he was tired of sitting on the bench and watching others play, citing how Antony Elanga and Teden Mengi were forced to leave as a result of something similar.

The duo have gone on to become regulars at their new clubs after their Man United exits, and the midfielder will hope to follow suit.
