Crystal Palace’s Key Condition Could Kill Newcastle United’s Marc Guehi Swoop

Crystal Palace will not sell Marc Guehi if they cannot line up a replacement for him, even if Newcastle match their asking price for the England centre-back, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

 

Newcastle’s pursuit of their top defensive target has been frustrating as Crystal Palace have been tough negotiators during the process.

 

They have rejected as many as four offers from Newcastle for Guehi and have not moved an inch from their £70m asking price.

 

 

Eddie Howe is pleading with Newcastle to put in the bid required to convince Crystal Palace to cash in on the 23-year-old defender this summer.

 

However, it has been claimed that Newcastle could just be running out of time to sign Guehi in the ongoing transfer window.

 

 

Palace are prepared to pull the plug on any deal to sell Guehi if they cannot bring in a replacement for the defender.

 

With only a few days left in the window, it is unclear whether they have enough time to work out a deal to bring in a defender to replace Guehi.

 

 

Oliver Glasner has not received any assurances that Guehi will stay but with four days left in the window, it seems increasingly likely that Newcastle will miss out on their man.
