WWF Champion From 1990s Dies After Lengthy Cancer Battle

Sid Eudy, known in the professional wrestling world by names like “Sycho Sid” and “Sid Vicious” has died.

Eudy passed away at age 63 after a long battle with cancer, his son announced in a Facebook post Monday.

Eudy’s career began in the late 1980s, and his rise to prominence began late in the decade during his run with World Championship Wrestling. He became a star in WCW a part of an iteration of the Four Horsemen.

That run led him to the WWF where he debuted as Sid Justice. In 1992, Eudy main evented WrestleMania with Hulk Hogan. He bounced around some, including another WCW stint before returning to WWF and quickly became a mainstay atop the card. The prime of his career came in the mid- to late-90s as “Sycho Sid” where he won the WWF world title. He once again main evented WrestleMania in 1997, dropping the belt to the Undertaker.

Eudy was a six-time world champion over his career, including two runs with the belt in WWF.
