Simon Jordan believes that it will take an offer of around £80m for Tottenham Hotspur or any other club to sign Eberechi Eze at this stage of the transfer window.

Tottenham were linked with Eberechi Eze

While it was always going to prove difficult for Tottenham to get their hands on Eze, the developments at the start of this week pretty much ended any hope that the Lilywhites had of landing the Crystal Palace star.

That was because the release clause in the attacking midfielder’s clause expired (Fabrizio Romano), which meant that Spurs or any club would have to enter into negotiations with the Eagles to sign the player.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth revealed on Thursday that Palace have no intention of losing another key player before the end of the month (Last Word on Spurs).

£80m for Eberechi Eze?

He suggested that Spurs would have to make a mammoth offer to convince the South London club to part ways with Eze in the final week of the transfer window.

Jordan has now told talkSPORT about the player: “Anyone wants to buy Eze, they will have to pay some serious, serious dough.”

When asked how much the England international would cost, the former Palace owner responded: “£80million. Why would Palace sell him? They’ve got £140million coming in on players.

“A lot of that is probably structured so it is up-front money. So why would they need to sell Eze as well? Someone is going to have to pay big bucks to get Eze.”

Eze was always going to be a difficult deal for Tottenham to do and perhaps Spurs, City and the other big Premier League clubs have decided to put off their pursuits until next summer as the 25-year-old will have just two years left on his deal this time next year.
