“It’s tough to take” said David Gray as he reflected on Hibernian FC’s 2-2 draw with Dundee.

Simon Murray’s 88th minute equaliser condemned the Hibees from taking all three points, in what was a competitive game at Easter Road.

When speaking after the game, our Head Coach reflected on the result.

“I have really mixed emotions to be honest. We started poorly, we looked nervy and edgy, and the goal we lost was really poor again.

“The goal we scored just before half-time was a result of being on the front-foot and competing for second balls. Joe did well to win the foul on the edge of the box. To get the goal gave us a lift.

“We started the second half positively and on the front foot. We made the changes to win the game and the subs that came on did really well and made an impact, which was great.

“We hadn’t dealt with their physical threat well throughout the whole game, Simon Murray caused us problems, so when they brought on Curtis Main we knew they’d go more direct. At that point, I felt we started to tire. We made the change to try and get more pressure on the ball but unfortunately, we lost the goal at the very end.

“It’s tough to take. We know we need to be better.”

Individual defensive mistakes were an issue again for the Hibees, which caused Gray great frustration at full-time.

“I’ve spoken about mistakes for a few weeks now. One thing we can’t keep having to do is scoring three, four, five goals to win a football match.

“Everyone knows where we need to improve. It’s not directed at any individual; it’s collective.

“We need to make sure everyone is pulling in the same direction, reflected, and working on the pitch every day to address the problems.”
