Chippenham-born attacker, Jude Soonsup-Bell joined Tottenham’s Academy in February of last year after choosing to not renew his deal at London rivals, Chelsea. The forward even chose a move to Spurs over Premier League giants Manchester City, according to the Standard.

The 20-year-old striker, who was mainly shifted out wide due to Will Lankshear’s stunning performances for the academy, was a regular feature in Wayne Burnett’s PL2 double-winning U21 side last season, netting ten goals and notching seven assists in twenty-three appearances. (TransferMarkt)

Despite playing a large part in Spurs Academy success last campaign, Tottenham have agreed to let the 20-year-old forward join Cordoba CF on a free transfer, although a 40% sell-on clause is part of the switch, according to BBC Sport.

Jude Soonsup-Bell has bid farewell to Tottenham

Ahead of the official announcement of his move to Cordoba CF, Jude Soonsup-Bell issued a statement on his X account which read:

“It’s been a memorable time, lots learnt. I want to thank everyone on and off the pitch and wish them the best for the future!”

Cordoba CF, who are playing in the La Liga2 for the first time this season in five years, stated in their announcement of the 20-year-old academy star that Soonsup-Bell has agreed a two-year deal with an option of a further season.

Spurs Web opinion

Soonsup-Bell did play a valuable role in the success that Wayne Burnett and the Tottenham Academy enjoyed last season, although, as we’ve seen with Yago Santiago’s departure, no matter how talented the player may be, if they haven’t broken through to the first-team by the age of 20/21 the player is often sold.

The former Chelsea academy man will likely shine in a team that offers him regular minutes, with a move further up the Spanish pyramid conceivable but Tottenham’s academy will have to now focus on replacing the forward.

Damola Ajayi and Yusuf Akhamrich are still very young but showed promising signs when breaking through to the U21’s last season and will be eyeing up Soonsup-Bell’s starting spot in Wayne Burnett’s side.
