Eilidh Adams is "delighted" to be back amongst the goals for Hibernian following an "extremely challenging" spell on the sidelines.

Injured in March 2024, Adams missed the tailend of last season and continued her recovery deep into pre-season.

Having healed in time for the new league season, the Hibernian number nine has found the net four times in her last two appearances.

"I’m delighted first and foremost to be back to full fitness," Adams told the media ahead of Sunday's trip to face Motherwell.

"To be back with no problems is great. To get goals on top of that to get my confidence built back up, as a striker, is definitely what I need. So, yes, I’m delighted and I’m delighted to be helping the team as well."

Adams continued to discuss her injury troubles, giving an honest and frank assessment of her road to recovery.

"Getting injured is never easy, especially when it’s a longer-term one. You know when you do it that there is a long road ahead.

"The first and the last part of it was the most challenging. Having to get the surgery and doing all my rehab to reach that last bit, when I wasn’t quite there and I was just doing loads of running, was probably the most frustrating thing.

"You feel fine but you’re not quite there. Mentally, it was extremely challenging. But it definitely benefitted me in ways. I’ve been able to work on things in the gym that you usually don’t have the opportunity to do.

"Although you never want to be injured, it has benefited me and I am feeling good now I’m back."

"I’ve had brilliant support from the girls and the coaching staff, they have all been brilliant with me," Adams added.

"On days where I’ve found it more challenging, they have all been there to lift me and help me see the positive side. I could not have got through it without them."

With two braces bagged back-to-back in the past week, Adams will be targeting more goal glory on Sunday at K-Park - though the striker is well-aware of the threat Motherwell possess.

"We know it’s going to be tough. They’re a good side and they’ve recruited over the summer. They will be strong.

"No game is easy in this league. We have started the season well and we are full of confidence, but we do not except this game to be easy. But we are all looking forward to it."
