Creamer goal is a winner for Bay

0 7

TOMMY CREAMER’s first goal of the season earned three welcome points as the Seagulls won 1-0 away to Mold Alex.

It was a hard-fought win with the Bay having to survive late pressure from the home side to hang on for the victory.

A goalless first half produced few clear cut chances with Mold firing an effort just over the Bay and Craig Lindfield having a header from Josh Carey’s headed pass saved by home keeper Joe Smith.

A teasing cross from Ethan Roberts also went narrowly wide of the post.

Early Bay pressure in the second half saw two efforts on goal blocked following a corner and Craig Lindfield fired a chance over the bar from Bay’s best bit of play of the game.

The only goal came on 59 minutes when Tommy Creamer chased down a back pass and was able to block Smith’s attempted clearance kick with the ball rebounding off him into the net.

Mold piled on the pressure in the closing minutes in search of an equaliser with Sam Hart having to clear one effort off the line and another shot going just wide.

Rhys Williams then made a great close range save right at the end to help Bay hold onto the three points.
