Player desperate to join Man Utd with talks advanced, but there is one major issue - Sky Sports

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte is desperate to secure a Manchester United move this summer, and talks are at an advanced stage between both clubs.

An agreement has been reached on many of the details, but there is no guarantee the move will happen given the finances involved, according to Sky Sports.

There is the willingness from all parties to get a deal done, and agreeing personal terms with the Uruguay international will not be a problem.

However, securing a permanent deal for Ugarte would be made easier if Man United could sanction further sales in the coming days.

The Red Devils continue to keep an eye on the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules having spent around £155 million this summer, and they need PSG to reduce their demands for a move to go through.

The French club are also under pressure to do business after signing Joao Neves for £50m, and selling Ugarte at a loss, having spent £51m on his services last summer, is not in their best interest.

Man United would love to sign the 23-year-old permanently if a reasonable fee can be agreed, but a loan with an obligation to buy is also being discussed.

Selling Napoli target and Scotland international midfielder Scott McTominay would come as a much-needed boost for the Red Devils in their pursuit of the PSG star as it would help raise funds.

However, manager Erik ten Hag insists the academy graduate is a key player he would love to hold on to.

The sporting director of the Serie A club is currently in England, and they are expected to push for a deal to sign him next week if they can make the necessary sales.

Man United are ready to sanction the sale of McTominay for between £25m-£30m, but the final decision will be left to him, which could have a huge impact on their chances of landing Ugarte.
