Hibernian continued their fine start to the season with a comprehensive win against Dundee United at Meadowbank.

Linzi Taylor scored her first goals for the club, with Eilidh Adams also grabbing a brace. Mya Christie and Kathleen McGovern completed the scoring to wrap up a 6-0 victory.

United had not played since their heavy opening day defeat to Celtic, whilst Hibs were looking to maintain their positive start to the season with a third consecutive victory.

Hibs took the lead after a dangerous low ball by Tegan Bowie was parried out into danger by Beth Rennie in the United goal. Taylor was at hand to poke home, scoring her first for the club after less than 10 minutes.

With Hibs continuing to press relentlessly, Adams stung the crossbar with a ferocious effort to keep the initiative firmly with the hosts.

On a night where windy conditions didn’t favour either side, Hibs would still dominate the opening stages. Adams popped up with a second for Hibernian, firing past Rennie low into the bottom of the net.

Just moments later, right from the restart, Taylor scored her second - also rifling a low effort into the goal.

The quickfire double goals would continue shortly before half-time, with Eilidh Adams scoring her second and Mya Christie also contributing her first of the season. 

Adams netted after skipping around the 'keeper, before Christie extended then score further. The wing-back blasted into the top corner from range after a fantastic through ball by Kirsten Reilly.

Firmly in control come half-time, attacking substitutions were made shirtly before the hour mark as Kathleen McGovern and Michaela McAlonie were introduced off the bench.

Looking to continue her fine form after scoring a brace against Aberdeen at the weekend, McGovern capitalised on some poor United goalkeeping.

The forward rounded the United ‘keeper to tap into an empty net, giving Hibs their sixth of the night to cap off another fantastic display at Meadowbank.
