Kathleen McGovern admitted her 'frustration' at having to wait until the second half of Hibs' second competitive fixture for a goal in Green & White.

The forward was unfortunate not to net versus Partick Thistle or in the first 45 of Sunday's encounter with Aberdeen, before netting twice following the interval.

A penalty kick into the bottom-left corner preceded a tidy touch and finish that secured the 22-year-old's brace.

"It took us a while to get started," McGovern told Hibs TV following the 7-0 victory.

"We had a chat at half-time and obviously it was good in the second half. I think we played better in the second half.

"And to score two myself, it was a long time coming. I was getting a bit frustrated.

"I’m here to score goals, that’s my main priority. But I’m off the mark now, long may it continue."

Desperate to continue finding the net, McGovern is pleased she has multiple players continually seeking her out in the box - including wingers Tegan Bowie and Abbie Ferguson.

"I know that when they get on the ball they are always looking to find me, which is the main priority.

"I’m really liking playing with these girls. We are just getting started. Hopefully it will continue."

Looking ahead to Wednesday evening's clash against Dundee United at Meadowbank, McGovern said:

"I love a night time game - well, I just love playing games.

:Hopefully we can get another three points on the board on Wednesday night."
