Triston Casas Smashed This Next Progression Of Red Sox Rehab

The Boston Red Sox got a key contributor back before the series finale against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday.

Chris Martin returns from the injured list while Boston still waits for the return of a massive boost to the lineup.

Triston Casas last played on April 20 for the Red Sox after suffering a rib injury. Through a, we'll call it, eventful rehab process, Casas is back on the field with Triple-A Worcester on a rehab assignment. On Wednesday, he showed that his swing is taking strides back to his elite level.

Casas slugged a pair of doubles for the WooSox against the Syracuse Mets in the afternoon affair. According to The Boston Globe's Alex Speier, Casas smashed three balls with an exit velocity of 105-plus mph.

The Red Sox first baseman hit .244 with six home runs prior to the injury and is expected to be a force in the lineup during a pivotal time of the season for the Red Sox.
