NFL Rumors: Patriots ‘Not Giving Up’ On Brandon Aiyuk Pursuit

Another NFL team jumped back into the Brandon Aiyuk sweepstakes, but that doesn't mean the New England Patriots are about to give in.

NFL insider Josina Anderson on Tuesday afternoon was among those to report the Pittsburgh Steelers are back in the mix for the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver.

NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco, who published the bombshell Aiyuk report Monday night, wrote the Steelers were out of consideration because they did not want to meet San Francisco's trade demands. ESPN's Adam Schefter initially reported he didn't think Pittsburgh would make the trade, but then Schefter changed course.

Anderson, though, noted the Patriots "aren't giving up" on Aiyuk, citing sources.

"The question is can New England stretch the offer they're prepared to give? If so, by how much, and how much creates sway?"

Maiocco on Monday night reported the Patriots and Cleveland Browns were the two teams in on Aiyuk. The Patriots reportedly constructed a trade framework the 49ers have agreed on, and offered a contract extension proposal to Aiyuk's camp.

Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo deflected when asked about New England's interest.
