We are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian international Junior Hoilett!

The 34-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a one-year contract, running until the summer of 2025.

Hoilett brings a wealth of experience to Easter Road having been capped 63 times by Canada and making over 500 career appearances to date.

The winger started his professional career with Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League and went on to play in the English top-flight on two more occasions. Alongside this, he helped both QPR and Cardiff City to promotion and has 63 caps for Canada – three of which came at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

He spent the latter end of the 2023/24 campaign with Aberdeen and made an immediate impact in the Scottish top-flight. In 15 appearances he contributed to 11 goals (eight assists and three goals), with eight of those coming in the final five games of the season.

On the signing of Hoilett, Hibernian FC Head Coach David Gray commented: “Junior is someone who has been on our radar, especially after his positive end to the season with Aberdeen.

“Throughout his career he’s played at a very high level and adapted well to Scottish football last season. He adds extra options and quality to the final third, alongside leadership and experience to the dressing room. We look forward to working with him.”

Hibernian FC Sporting Director Malky Mackay added: “We’re really pleased to bring someone of Junior’s calibre, personality and ability to the Club. We’ve been working hard to strengthen our attacking options, and Junior gives David extra flexibility in those areas.

“Not only will Junior help add quality to the group, he will also be able to share his experience and help support the talented young forwards in the squad.

“Finally, he is a great character, a top professional and another good person to have around the building and in the dressing room.”
